raised a LOT of money...

I just wanted to let you know that the two prints that I got from you in May were the items with some of the most tickets in the raffles, therefore raised a LOT of money for the elkhound charities. Both winners love them and have them framed and up on their walls. One told me that during a storm when her grandchildren could not go outside, they got down the print and used a magnifying glass to see all the words in the picture! It was great fun for everyone. Thank you so much for all you have done and the joy you have brought into at least three elkhound families. :~D

A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old)

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker.
The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The six-year-old continued, "well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Love unconditionally and forgive frequently

The Cat's Diary
Day 983 of My Captivity

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly
released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

Did you acquire this "talent" by getting in trouble...

Just curious: Did you acquire this "talent" by getting in trouble in grade school and being required to write "I will not ...." 200 times over and over? Just kidding with you. Your work is very unique and I am sure it will be a centerpiece in our horse world collection. Thank you, Bruce

A new print is on the way! -SK

Hi!, well, our one and a half. year old saint Sophie is a thief, she has taken many things, shoes, TV remotes, socks, stuffed animals, even a large plastic doll house out the doggy door. The door really isn't that big, we put it in for our Kings and the chin.( the love of my life ). But she manages to get in and out with her prizes. Well the other am we had a large rain and being the theft that she is, she found it beside my chair. By the time we got up and my husband looked out the window, and yelled to me it (the tube and the print) were drenched and shredded into a million pieces. My fault. I know how much dogs love to chew on cardboard. It is hard to find chin stuff. I am so glad you did a drawing of then. I will never be without a chin. The drawing looks so much like him. Keep up the good work. I hope I can order another in the future. Well, that's the sad story on that. Stay on the net so I can find you in the future. Thanks for contacting me. Have a wonderful day. Linda and Kim.

"A Dog A Day"

Hi Stephen. I cannot express the joy and general good fuzzy feeling I get from the work you do, both artistically and your work with rescue. Working with dogs everyday as we do is a most wonderful way of life. We tell people we have the best job in the world...and I think we do. My motto is "A Dog A Day" and indeed we strive to help at least one dog a day.

I went to youtube and watched all your dog videos...outstanding! and LOL you asked for dog pics..well that is like asking a Grandmother if she has pics of her grandkids...I am sending you pics of our three Shiloh Shepherds. Shilohs are a rare breed, of GSD stock They are considered a Giant breed, and, they are awesome ;-)
Their intelligence is unrivalled in dogdom...well almost.

I could not pick just one pic. of each of them, so please feel free to pick the ones you would like to use from the ones I sent.

Thanks again for all you do.

I treasure my Chocolate Lab, as he's crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Received the print yesterday and as usual, it's great!  These make wonderful gifts for my dog loving friends and family.  I'm a prosecutor and I've shown the prints to all our K9 officers, who I hope will order.  You have a God given talent and I truly appreciate you.  I treasure my Chocolate Lab, as he's crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  I now have a Black Lab, so I'll have to get one for myself. Sissy Bear is a friend's new Lab puppy.  I also have a fox terrier & Australian Shepard mix--are you up to that challenge?
Thanks again.

Hi Stephen,
The picture arrived today!
OMG... it's ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Yes, I'm yelling!!!
Rob is actually home on vacation so I didn't have to wait until he got home from work to give it to him. He LOVES it!
We found all the names... twice! You did a WONDERFUL job incorporating them into the picture. Really like how you did some in black ink and some in silver. It sure gives it depth, and when you turn the picture on an angle the silver names shine out!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! AWESOME WORK!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!
Thanks again,
Sherry & Rob

Thank you So Much

Hi Stephen,
Just wanted to Thank you for the Fabulous English Setter Portrait. It was a present for my brothers birthday in June. I just couldn't wait until then to give it to him. He came with his daughter for a visit so it was a great time to present him with it. I saved the best for last and like I said on our phone conversation that he probably would cry when he saw it. He was speechless and in awe and then the tears came. It reminded me of Christmas and being a kid and you get the gift you were wishing for all year. Then he noticed his dog's name he couldn't believe it. I don't think I will ever top this gift. Thank you so much again. Your Talent makes so many people happy.

Happy Sister Helena

Re: Kline's Pug

Dear Stephen!
What beautiful work you do! I looked at all the breeds and somehow you manage to capture the very essence of each one! When I took my pug to get framed today, the framer was so impressed that she asked for your card so that she can check out the airdale for her father (he does airdale rescue; we do pug rescue). She had a Scotty die recently and I told her (since I once had one years ago as well) that your Scotty is truly wonderful so she'll be looking at Scotties as well.
Your talent is such a great gift to all of us who love our fellas so much -- My husband will be overwhelmed with delight when he unwraps this gift! I just hope I can keep it hidden until Christmas -- When you have a present as perfect as this one, it will be VERY hard not to give it to him early! Like as soon as it comes back from the framer!
God bless you! Thank you for your terrific gifts.

RE: Kline's Black Lab

Thank you so very much. I know my father-in-law will love his "dooley" as Mark and I love our "Casey". I never have been able to "find" just the right item for my vet whom cared so wonderfully for out Casey for nearly 14 years then had the dreadful job of euthanitizing her in February. His staff told me one of his kids had allergies so he never had his OWN DOG but I have been thinking about the eagle for him...so I may be contacting you once more in the near future.
Thank you for sharing your passion with us.
Sincerely
Angela

Re: Kline's Greyhound

Hiya:
I received my Greyhound today, and want to thank you very much, I absolutely love it, but it is more special because you work with animal rescue. I have an adopted/rescued greyhound (brindle in colour) named Brandy and it looks exactly like her. This was my first purchase on ebay, and I have left my feedback indicating your great service.
Thanks again,
Maria

Min Pin Print

Hi Stephen
The Min Pin print arrived safely in Australia for my friend with the Miniature Pinscher boy. As previously said, this was a gift from me for my friend Dierdre after the Min Pin she owns gained his Australian Grand Championship Title.

I had a phone call today from De and not only was she so very impressed with the print, she was in tears of happiness to see her boys name drawn through the picture.

Thank you very much for your excellent work : )

Prints arrived today! :-)

Hi Stephen,

The prints arrived today. I don't even know what to say I am so blown away. I got tears in my eyes when I saw Cali's. It is so beautiful and it is her eyes. Her name is everywhere. It means a lot to me because it means she belongs!

I thought the parrot and pelican would be nice but had no idea that they would be spectacular.

I can't wait to get them all framed and hanging on my walls.

You were truly blessed with a gift.

Thank you so very much. I just left you very positive feedback.

Sincerely,
Diane

Thanks for your kind words, Bubba is very missed, but Fred is such a joy to be around.
I got my print in the mail yesterday and am just as pleased with this print as the last. Your work is a joy to look at and this print will look awsome on the wall next to the Newfie. I also wanted to tell you the Pug you sent to Menominee was just as well received. Dave is a co-worker that I showed your auction listings to last week. He is very happy with his selection as well.

Hi Stephen

Samoyed Print

Hello Stephen,
I just had to write to tell you I purchased the Samoyed Print from Ebay. (Ebay does not allow enough space to leave great feedback).
When I opened it up, I was lost for words. You have truly captured the sincerity and gentleness of the Samoyed Breed with your wonderful and unique talent; as you have with all the other breeds. I have owned this breed for 30 years now and this is by far the best piece I have ever seen. It will hang in my living room with pride for many years.
Thank you again, I just love it.
Best Regards,
Gloria

Kline's Papillon

I didn't have enough space on ebay to express how thoroughly happy I am with my papillon print. My expectations run very high, and you blew them away. I could not believe it when I returned home from the holiday weekend to find it already in my mailbox.

It's awesome, and I can't wait to have her framed.

Thanks so much,

Jane
